Charles Bordes mélodies

Post by ganymède »

It seems like Bordes (a teacher at the Schola Cantorum along with d'Indy, etc.) wrote quite a few mélodies. Aside from his general neglect I'm especially curious because he set some poems by Verlaine that no other composer touched. I've been able to find a volume of songs for high voice, which includes 'Sur un vieil air' among others... is it possible for someone to dig out the scores for 'Dansons la gigue', 'Épithalame', 'O triste, triste était mon âme', and all the rest? I'm not able to access inter-library loans at the moment.

If so, I'd greatly appreciate it. (Also, possibly Vierne's cycle 'Spleens et détresses'? A man can wish...)

We have digitized one collection of his songs, Kantika espiritualak. 10 cantiques basques anciens (en dialecte souletin), which can be found here: http://hdl.handle.net/1802/14073. We also have another collection, Douze noêls populaires basques, en dialecte souletin., which is in the queue to be digitized. I don't know if these are exactly what you want, but I don't show us having any other song collections by Bordes.
