Settings of Playford dances

Post by Steve Hendricks »

I do not notice a location for settings of Playford dances other than under Cecil Sharp. I have all the dances from the first edition of The (English) Dance Master , as well as several from later editions, in settings for from 2 to 5 instruments. I cannot find a location for the pieces under the John Playford composer page. I would like to share them. Very old versions at at the University of Waterloo web site, but I seem unable to update them.

Is there any way I can add them. Should I request a page for my Playford and other editions/books?

Before creating a new page, ensure there isn’t already an appropriate section under the John Playford composer page or other related pages. Sometimes, specific collections or settings are organized by editions or arrangers rather than composers. Check the platform’s requirements for file uploads, including naming conventions and metadata. Provide brief details about each setting, including the edition it corresponds to, the number of instruments, and any notable arrangements.
