hi,everyone,could you guys tell me the english name&the composer of this piece?
i need this piece's composer's information as quickly as possible...
mayday！I was posted on the otherside of the form but i missed.

I only know the
*tilte meas [ MAY DAY'S Day]
*the composer’s name sounds like form[vo'ch's]to[wa'qie's] or [va'chie's]
*the tempo is "alla polacca" to ben marcato,MM.=116
*the key is C major &it has a D.C.
*looks like a polka

I had been search from Vázquez to Wachs but still failed...
IF you know this music,Could you tell me the ture name of the composer?

The information and score is page 221/score 19-14/comes form book "Piano&Accompaniment Tutorials(BOOK I)",which is my teacher scan&send to me & the isbn is 7-103-02058-2 ,but it is publish in china and all the title and composer's name had been translate into Chinese whitout any clue for me.
It may be a classical composer's work I think.

Looks like this :
title:五月的节日,means MAY DAY Festival
sub-t:波尔卡,means polka
composer:瓦契斯/wa'qi'si/,his original name is what im looking for...曲means composed by whom..so only 瓦契斯is the name...

ps:im not sure the font will looks like □□□ or not....

I've tracked the book by the ISBN, but the few hits don't translate beyond a few title words in English. I'm puzzled about the apparent translation of the composer's name. How, for instance, would Beethoven's name appear if he were the composer? Would his name be recognizable to readers outside of China?

According to http://zh.wikipedia.org, Beethoven's name is 路德维希·范·贝多芬 in Chinese. (Follow the bouncing interlanguage links.)
(Doesn't look much like Schubert's name in zh or zh-yue Wiki, but the tune sounds a little like one of Schubert's military marches. Hrm. Or Clementi. More than it does Beethoven... Hrm...)

The title of the piece is translated as "May Festival" or "Festival in May"

As it is written in Simplified Chinese, the name "瓦契斯" should be sound in Mandarin (Putonghua)
The sound is something like "Wa-sses" or "Wa" - "chee" - "s"/"ses"
Bcos Wa -gner ==> 瓦 格纳
Pu- cci -ni ==> 普 "契" 尼
斯 always associates with "s" or "ses"

However, I can't think of any composers related to the Mandarin Pronunciation

Anyone has ideas?

Wonder if it could be (Paul) Wachs (mistranscribed)? Though actually I'm inclined to guess that it's a 20th-century composer and piece, especially given the title... though... hrm. Of several conflicting minds. Ouch. May Festival... Maifest?...

According to the introductory, it is a pedagogy "textbook" for students who are studying at an Education Institute and want to become a music teacher in China's School. The book claims that it follows the "curriculum prospective" from the Education Department in PRC.

However, I cant find a copy of the book nearby

For the guess of the composer, I think you are on the right track. The title "Festival in May" seems fits to "Maifest" while Wachs is a French composer, and Maifest is a German Fest.

In HK there is a "Le French May" event on May every year to promote French Arts, but i think there's no relationship on it
