sea shanty = folksong?
sea shanty = folksong?
I found an arrangement of a sea shanty that is not categorized as a folksong, but it seems to me that it could and possibly should be. Other opinions?

Yes, sea shanties are classified as folksongs.

As a shantyman I would concur with that view for ease of classification but point out that they are still being written!
