I have tagged this under "pieces" so long, it should probably be listed as a madrigal.

The "pieces" tag should be used for purely instrumental works. Vocal works take "songs" (for solo voices) or "secular choruses" or "sacred choruses" (for choral works). If it's unclear whether a renaissance work is intended for solo voices or for chorus, as in this case, the "madrigals" tag may be applied by default.
