New Project: Ruth Dana Collection of Liszt editions

Post by Funper »

I recently discovered a huge collections of first and early editions of Liszt scores at JUILCAT. Really rare scores and editions that are barelly available anywhere else. The server is slow and the files are kind of huge (Transcendental Etudes are over 200 mb[!]) but the rarity and quality of the scores is definitely worth the trouble. Everyone is encouraged to volunteer!

See the project page for details: http://imslp.org/wiki/IMSLP:Community_P ... t_Editions

Anyone who is interested, reply here or put your names directly on the project page.

Wow. I didn't know Julliard had online editions too. Maybe there are others too. How can you find them? Can you select it somewhere in a search menu? They seem to be well hidden.

Neat! I have peter's same question how does one find other scanned scores that they have? I tried for a little bit without luck. Also many of these scores are quite large. It might be worth it to try and compress them. Something along the lines of http://imslp.org/wiki/Optimizing_PDF_Compression.

Seriously guy, feel FREE to volunteer. Two ppl can't possibly do this fast enough. It isn't to much different from the MIT project, besides publisher info is much more accessible. Basicly, it's just download and upload. I don't understand the shortage of contributors!

I really didn't mean to give a bad connotation to my reply - please accept my apologies. I really just wanted to know why you are so hurried.

well it wasn't necessary... we still have a shortage of contributers, and there are still some 13 pages remaining. let this be heard again: these are historical editions. you will be contributing to history and your names will be imprinted on the workpages forever. it is an ideal contribution which will make it possibly to study the middle-19th century art of engraving and the evolution of scores that go through tens of publishing houses.
