Copland Scores

Post by Raph37 »

Dear all, I desperately need scores of Copland works from the 30s and 40s for my university dissertation.
I'm mainly looking for:
Billy the Kid
Rodeo
A Lincoln Portrait
Fanfare for the common man/3rd symphony.

I would hugely appreciate any help with this!

Thanks,

Raph

You'll have to borrow them from a library (including interlibrary loan) or purchase them.

Boosey has some Masterworks volumes of Copland orchestral works that are less expensive to purchase than the individual scores that make them up. Plus, they are pretty much full-score size and far easier to read than Boosey's Copland miniature scores (which are merely shrunken versions of the full scores in any case).

Just for clarification, the reason that you'll need to borrow or purchase them is because they're under copyright worldwide (Copland died in 1990, therefore can't be posted on this site). You can see this page for more details. (I don't know if you meant that someone would upload them, but just in case  )
