Nick Shave. 'Downloading Made Easy - Sheet Music on the Web', BBC Music Magazine Vol.17 No.13 (Sept 2009) p.89Perhaps the most promising site for free sheet music online is the Petrucci Library, a growing database of scores in the public domainthat are available to download at http://www.imslp.org. Built on the same principles as the Wikipedia website, the library is a collaborative project, comprising of scores and information that is contributed by members, edited by visitors, and maintained by administrators. Since its launch in 2006, the library has amassed more than 30,000 scores, so you will find everything from from Bach suites to Beethoven symphonies here. Browse by genre, instrument or simpler still, search by composer, and you can view scores with Foxit Reader software, available to download via the site.
The author doesn't seem to realise that Foxit is just a pdf reader as later on he tells his readers to download Acrobat Reader for viewing scores from another website
