poss. discrepancies in Ravel score

Hi, I have a question.
I have been working on Gaspard de la Nuit by Maurice Ravel. Tonight I noticed that a few passages from the version that I found here at IMSLP, sound significantly different from the recorded version that I prefer (Martha Argerich 1970s).
I have checked and checked and checked my sightreading for possible mistakes, and can't find any.
I guess I'd just like to know if anyone else has noticed this as well, or if the problem is with me. Do you suppose I might as well make the final call and interpret it whichever of the two ways I choose?
