Porretti (ca 1720-1783) worked as a cellist in the Capilla Real between 1734 and 1783. He was the father of Joaquina, Boccherini’s second wife.
He seems to have written 24 cello concertos and a work for four cellos mentioned by Padre Antonio Soler.
Naxos recorded a sonata for cello in D found in the collection of scores at the castle of Schönborn-Wiesentheit in Germany.

The sonata has been published by Alejandro Gerri
[Mühlheim] : Garri Editions, ©2004.
A copy is available at the University of Darmstadt

Other sonatas are at the British Museum:
- sonata in A Major
- sonata in G minor
British Museum. Dept. of Manuscripts. ADD 31,528. (microfilm)

Surname possibly sometimes written as Perroti, I gather (still... orthography was catch as catch can much more recently than that). Still, even using that and also checking other catalogues (e.g. SBN) doesn't seem to give much more information...

(RISM lists a Giovanni Porretti, as past owner of some manuscripts in the collections in their databases, but no idea if there's any connection of any sort, btw.)
