Can you give me more info. on this one? When I completed Roussel's works a while back I didn't remember seeing this, but it could have possibly been under copyright, or less likely, I could have totally overlooked it!

Roussel wrote two vocalises for voice and piano. The second one was "arranged" by Arthur Hoerée for flute or oboe or clarinet or viola or cello, with piano or orchestra. For some reason, he re-named this "Aria". The Grove entry is:

Vocalise no.1, 1v, pf, 1927; J. Darnay, Roussel, 20 Dec 1928
Vocalise no.2, 1v, pf, 1928; R. de Lormoy, P. Maire, Paris, 13 April 1929; orchd A. Hoérée, c1930; arr. A. Hoérée as Aria, fl/ob/cl/va/vc, pf/orch, n.d.

The aria has been uploaded, but is blocked because Hoerée only died in 1979. However, a vocalise probably doesn't require any "arrangement", at least for the version with piano -- the instrumentalist just plays the vocal line (which didn't have any words to start with), and the piano part is probably the original.

Hoerée's orchestration would be blocked, but my university library has the clarinet Aria, so I could compare the original to that to see how much "arranging" was actually done.

*erasing silly comment of mine. written 1929 orch1930 pub ?... (time to do a HMB/ONB / Google books/ Roussel bio / other stuff scour there...) - no, it cannot be put on the IMSLP-US server, for obvious reasons, for fourteen-odd years anyway...- too bad, though...*

No, but it can go on the EU server, I presume?
