Ravel's Mother Goose complete ballet

Post by LennyB »

Hello everyone,
the full score of Ravel's ballet "Mother Goose" (Ma Mère l'Oye)
posted on Petrucci's Library isn't complete.
Does anyone have the missing pages please?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, I agree. The Mother Goose Ballet is NOT, as Dover apparently believes, the Prelude and 1st scene tacked onto the usual 5-movement Suite. The "missing pages" in question are the interludes between the movements of the Suite. So there are 4 remaining sections still missing from the IMSLP posting. I think there was indeed a printing of the complete score (by Durand) but am not absolutely sure. If it exists, it still may run afoul, as do several other important Ravel scores, of the PD restrictions at IMSLP.

PS: I'll correct the Ballet listing with a warning of its incompleteness.

So Dover published the orchestral score, but not all of it? Yeesh, I knew they occasionally had problematic editions but this...

Thanks a lot, I think that there are no more problems about PD of this work.
The fact is that is very difficult to find the complete score.
I have the solo piano transcription with all interludes between episodes.
