I'm looking for the string quartet arrangement for Guiseppe Tartini's Violin Sonata in G minor. Thanks everyone:)

If you mean the arrangement, I can't say for sure so I'll have to assume it's Tartini's own. At least that's what it looks like from what I've seen on online stores.

Actually, the string quartet (2 vlns, va, vc) was only in its most formative stages during the latter part of Tartini's lifetime (e.g. Haydn's Op.1 and 2). Tartini's musical roots date from two generations before and it is unlikely that he would have arranged anything for a string quartet as we've come to know it. Most of his works are violin sonatas and violin concerti, or so says Wikipedia. That doesn't help find the arrangement being sought but it does increase the possibility that it may date from sometime in the 20th century and may fall under copyright restrictions. And it wouldn't sound anything like authentic Tartini.

Thanks a lot for that information, I didn't know that:) I did some more research and found the name of the arranger, Henri Vieuxtemps (1820-1881), in a publisher's catalogue. So it was published after his death. Nonetheless it's a gorgeous arrangement:)

Ah, Vieuxtemps! That means that it should sould quite beautiful, if probably somewhat romantic-slushy if performed in true late 19th-century style, with mucho portamento and rubato. Furthermore, if you could track it down it should be in the public domain. Good luck!
