Would anyone have the vocal score for Ippolitov-Ivanov's opera Ole iz Nordlanda (Ole from Nordland) op. 53? I have been searching for this quite long now as he supposedly is using some norwegian folksongs, and to see how it relates to Knut Hamsun's Queen Tamara.
Many many thanks!

Thanks for mentioning that. I've just now placed a request for it on my local interlibrary loan.

Thank you!
BTW In My musical life RK mentions a symphonic Allegro by Cui as his model for the last movement of his first symphony (p. 18 in the russian version on IMSLP, p. 22 in the 1972 Edition (trans. Joffe)), but I have not found this piece and it is not mentioned on his worklist. Would you happen to know what he (RK) is talking about?
Edit: Not so strange its not mentioned anywhere: it was never completed... (p. 27/31: the index in the 72 edition is obviously not very good). Do you now if Cui's sketches have been published at all?

It's not been published to my knowledge. If it's still in manuscript, it might be held at the Russian National Library in the archives; there's supposed to be some music by Cui preserved only in manuscript, including a notebook with pieces from the early years. As that passage in
My Musical Life points out, "A subsidiary subject of this Cui subsequently utilized for MacGregor's narrative in his
William Ratcliff." So,it's possible that Cui destroyed or threw away the original piece.

Forgot to follow up on this yesterday.
The piano-vocal score for "Ole iz Nordlanda" is available on IMSLP now:
