Schütz, old edition

It would be good to have the 'old' Schütz edition on IMSLP. It preserves the time values of the original, and, although the clefs are 'old' (as they are in the Bach Gesellschaft) it is a very useful source for those wanting to make their own performing editions. Dover put out a volume of the Kleine geistliche Konzerte, but, to my knowledge, little else has appeared. The edition appeared between 1885 and 1894 in 18 volumes, edited by Spitta.

Yes, the Breitkopf edition is mentioned on the page. We would all love this, but it is a rather large undertaking, and very few are interested in scanning this extremely large number of pages, and even fewer have access. Perhaps you could help by getting the ball rolling?

Actually, Breitkopf still sells it.

Difficult to believe that Breitkopf can still get people to part with that sort of money, given that there at least two modern editions in progress. Maybe the publisher should be asked if it wants to put the Spitta edition on-line at IMSLP. Unfortunately I don't have access to the edition.
