Re: Jenö Hubay
By notes do you mean score or program notes?
Re: Jenö Hubay
No, I mean the score for violin and piano.
Re: Jenö Hubay
Is it the Hungarian Rhapsody composed by Liszt and arranged by Hubay? What is your primary language?
Re: Jenö Hubay
This product is called Liszt: Ungarische Rhapsodie nach der Paraphrase uber "Die drei Zigeuner" It was written by E. Hubay.

Re: Jenö Hubay
Imslp has the original work bei Liszt for voice and piano: http://imslp.org/wiki/Die_drei_Zigeuner ... zt,_Franz).
Liszt also wrote a version for violin & piano: Die drei Zigeuner. Dichtung von N. Lenau. Paraphrase für Violine und Pianoforte: listed as S.383 in the Liszt worklist (or as R.469), published by Kahnt 1896 (this is very rare and not on imslp).
And this arrangement was then edited by Hubay, under the title "Ungarische Rhapsodie" for violin and piano and orchestrated. Apparently a free arrangement including "additions where appropriate" according to his introductory notes. Published 1931 by Universal-Edition. The Violin and Piano version is apparently out of print, the orchestral version still available as rental. I plan to uplad this soon, it should be free on the European server.

Re: Jenö Hubay
The original Liszt Paraphrase. Die drei Zigeuner has been uploaded,
and I put the Violin part of the Liszt-Hubay "Ungarische Rhapsodie" on that workpage as an arrangement.
On second thought: Since this is very much an original composition, using the same themes and overall structure but almost twice the length of the Liszt original, this should rather be on the Hubay-page with a crossreference.
Will do that, when I add the Piano score.... comments?

Re: Jenö Hubay
IMO paraphrases should always be in their own page under the composer of the paraphrase.
Re: Jenö Hubay
Thanks for the Hungarian Rhapsody!
