Cimarosa: Le Astuzie Femminili

Post by DWSpiro »

Trying to locate an orchestral score of this opera. Even to buy, it's been pretty impossible to find. Ricordi published a piano/vocal. Kalmus has a full score of the overture. But that's all I've come up with. Obviously would love a scan, but even any information on a published full score would be great.

Worldcat reports a "partitura" (full score) published by Ricordi in 1980 (OCLC Number 630911746 - 500 sheets, this appears consistent with a full score). Two other worldcat entries (OCLC Number 725172627 and 725513494, both published by Ricordi Munich) specify instrumentation (2.2.2.2.-2.2.2.1.,Pk, Schlzg, Cemb/Klav, Str; Soli), however it is not clear whether they are full scores. All these entries may correspond to the one mentioned in the Ricordi online catalogue:

Have you tried already to directly contact Ricordi?

The Italian library system reports that the autograph score is available at the library of the conservatory of Naples.

THANKS! I had no idea how to look up the Italian library system. Is there a website? I know that some libraries will do scans for a fee, so perhaps that's a possibility. I did contact Ricordi and they appear to have the full score and parts for rent.....

I was having quite a difficult time on WorldCat because there are so many entries and although some say partitura, fine print will list piano or reduction.....so I was really having an awful time figuring out which listings were actual full scores. In some listings, I couldn't even figure out how many pages.....but I will try again based on your findings.

Here it is:

The search engine is not very user-friendly. The attitude of Italian libraries about copying or scanning scores is highly variable, staff's ignorance (or arrogance) on copyright matters is sometimes embarrassing.
