I really love the ballet Romeo and Juliet, Op.64 (Prokofiev, Sergei) and wait the score for long time,but it's still blocked.
Could you help me,or tell me how long I should wait..

The work is under copyright in the EU until 2024, and in the US until 2040.

The work is public domain in China (which has a copyright term of life plus 50 years), but you still can't access it from this site because if a work isn't public domain in the EU (in which case it would go on the EU server), we need to abide by US law because the Canadian IMSLP is owned by a company located in the US. So unfortunately that means that you'll have to wait 14 more years to access those files (from the EU server), unless Project Petrucci LLC moves to Canada (which seems highly unlikely at this point).

(That’s a rhetorical question by the way: how would we know where you’re from? And even if we did, how would we know if your location was being technically subverted by means of a web proxy? The answer is, we can’t make exceptions for this person or that person on such flimsy statements as “I’m in China!” – the rules of the site are applied globally.)

I kinda doubt it. If there is money to be made, and such a PDF would be a prime candidate for selling, you probably won't be able to find it for absolutely free anywhere. Even some Russian sites that used to give away stuff have seen the benefits of Capitalism.

It's a pity, though, about Romeo. I have both the complete full score and piano reduction from the Soviet Prokofiev edition (as well as both full and PV scores of Shostakovich's The Nose) and no place to upload them! Hmmmm, maybe I should go into business . . .

PS: Kalmus used to have the R&J suites for sale. Are these now gone and reabsorbed under copyright protection?

Both of the scores you name were subjected to the GATT/TRIPPS amendment restorations in 1998 that catapulted both back into copyright. So the only way you could legally obtain a copy these days is to buy one second-hand from a place like eBay or used sheet music or book stores. Notoriously difficult to find is the highly-prized Dover reprint of the 24 preludes and fugues by Shostakovich. I myself was lucky enough to find and purchase one many years ago, and at last glance, *IF* you could even find it, this volume sells for anywhere from $100-250.

I'm not familiar with ones available at SMP. They are terrific pieces, and if ANY volume can be purchased for that amount I would jump on it.

You can get the DSCH edition from Music44 for something like $25 or so (last time I checked).
