In the
Dedication line of this page:
http://imslp.org/index.php?title=Marcia ... ion=submit I have tried to write the abbreviation of
Signore like this: Sig<raise and write in small characters: "r">. But look at the result! What am I doing wrong?

That function doesn't seem to work with this version of MediaWiki, but you can write it instead as "Sigr. Cavre.", or spell out the abbreviated words in full.
