help guide for page layout symbols

Do we have a help guide for page layout symbols anywhere? Like colons for tabs, etc.

I'm having an issue with http://imslp.org/wiki/R%C3%AAverie,_Op. ... Aleksandr) in the instrumentation field.

The wiki drops out any number of spaces over 1, so to get the orchestra line to line up with the solo line, 2 tabs doesn't go far enough, and 3 tabs goes too far. Is there a symbol for a mandatory space?

And should we have a guide for the other symbols?
