"I-Catalogue Numbers"

I noticed this evening that IMSLP has assigned "I-Catalogue Numbers" to the compositions of mine that I have uploaded.

The moniker is "ILN." Here, for instance, is my "ILN 1": http://imslp.org/wiki/After_the_Dazzle_ ... C_Lyle_K.)

However, "ILN" is assigned to other composers on IMSLP as well. For example, here is "ILN 1" of another IMSLP composer: http://ftp.imslp.org/wiki/Foglio_No.7_( ... %2C_Luigi).

Shouldn't the catalog designation be uniquely adjusted for each composer with similar initials? Otherwise, what purpose does the "I-Catalogue" serve?

It does not replace opus numbers or any extant cataloging system. It's purpose is strictly to handle cases where a composer has more than one work with an identical title - Vivaldi and composers of his era were especially prone to simply title everything with a generic "concerto" and the like. Of course there will be other ILN numbers, but you'll not likely be seeing any of them used in work-page titles.
