what happened in Alkan's Op.25?

Alkan's
Alleluia is Op.25
but Fantaisie Sur Don Juan Paraphrase is Op.25 too
what is this? is like Op.25A and Op.25B?
I'm confused little bit.

It seems that the two pieces were published the same year (1844), the Alleluia as Op. 25, the Fantaisie without opus number.

It's not uncommon, especially in that particular era. Happened a lot with Dvorak (I think Op. 14 has three sperate independant pieces), Gottschalk, and others. Also, sometimes a piece will actually have more than one Op. number.
That's why I love other cataloging systems, that use the complete works after the fact.
