The reviewers' opinion about this capitalization vary when I add a new work. Could we please standardize it?

If it is in the title, then the following applies: "The names of the instruments should be in the same language as the rest of the title (which in practice will usually be English), and follow the same capitalization rules for that particular language."

If it is in the instrumentation field, then although the guidelines themselves do not mention capitalization, all of the examples give in the guidelines are lower case. See:

Not in the 'Chamber Works' section, where examples include "Piano" and "Violin, cello or viola".

I'm not sure if I've understood the question correctly, but the instrumentation field should start with a capital letter (unless it's preceded by a number), as in normal English sentences. So:

• Instrumentation=Piano
• Instrumentation=2 pianos
• Instrumentation=Violin, cello, piano
• Instrumentation=Piano, orchestra
• Instrumentation=Piano 4 hands
• Instrumentation=2 violins, piano, organ

Woops, I've changed countless pages, because this page:

has all lower case . . . .

Can the guidelines be changed?

The page already includes the instruction:

"The first character on the line should be capitalised, unless it is a number, but otherwise give instruments in lower-case letters (except for "English horn")"

... and all the examples shown are consistent with that rule. But please don't worry about making tiny corrections like that, which can probably be done automatically by Feldmahler anyway.

OK, I see what I did now -- I didn't read further into the Chamber Works section. Perhaps this line could have something added, e.g. "It is important to give correct and precise information in this section; for capitalization rules, see examples below (Chamber Works)."
