Franz Strauss Horn Quartets

I have a copy of Franz Strauss (1822-1905) Horn Quartets published by Schott, edited by Peter Damm, copyright 2005.
The preface says: "The surviving compositions of Franz Strauss are kept in the archive of the Strauss family in Garmisch, including a collection entitled Quartetten für vier Hörner [Quartets for Four Horns] containing both original compositions and ar- rangements of popular songs, arias and chamber music movements. It can be inferred from the undated manuscript that Strauss had undertaken several revisions of his works; the separate phases of composition can be clearly iden- tified in the various existing sets of material.
For the current edition, exclusively original compositions by Franz Strauss were selected. These works are contained in Material No. 3 from the collection, an untitled score in vertical format with four movements. The Menuett and the Oberbaierische Gebirgsweise [Upper Bavarian Mountain Melody] are also included in stylistically substantially different form in the collections Material 1 and 2, whereby the score published in this edition can be regarded as being the most recent of the variants. The Rondino à la Chasse is based on the initial theme of the second movement Allegro from Material No. 1 and the Gavotte appears to be an original composition. The published and revised movements contained in the appendix originate from Material No. 2.
Our particular thanks go to the Strauss family for giving their permission for the publication of the horn quartets by Franz Strauss and providing access to the autographs from the Richard Strauss Archive in Garmisch."
There does not seem to be any other edition available. If I typeset with reference to the copyrighted edition, would that be public domain? Many thanks for any help!
