Incidental music

Post by Eric »

Not sure this in fact requires a thread here, but did want to suggest that the genres Incidental Music and Ballet (both with or without voices...) deserved their own, well, genres, not quite fitting in the existing ones. This thought prompted by the addition of Schumann's complete Manfred incidental music op. 115 in the genre "Other (secular - SATB choir with accompaniment)" which does not seem quite adequate/apt.

Revision (i.e., expansion) of IMSLP's genre categories as a whole has been brought up, particularly as regards the Library of Congress classifications.
