Re: Upcoming changes
By the way - if IMSLP is going to post ads - I suggest they all be musical adds and if done properly it might even add content in an oblique sense if done right. Perhaps you contact Sweetwater and see if you can get into an exclusive arrangement with them. They don'l sell music - just instruments an...

Re: Upcoming changes
HI, Frankly I have no problems paying a small fee to help IMSLP and I contribute a lot of content here. But I think the model is flawed. People can save $1000s of dollars coming here and (legally) downloading things. If financial stability is the goal, and I think we all want IMSLP to be stable, the...

Re: Typesets of public domain autographs that have 1st Eds
Thanks. This is a minefield. How about derivative works. If I make an arrangement of a public domain autograph for other instruments and even change things, add parts, lines, etc and there happens to be a valid 1st edition of the original. Are there issues here?

Typesets of public domain autographs that have 1st Eds
I've posted a number of typeset editions of public domain autograph scores on IMSLP, primarily C. Graupner. I was told that there may be copyright issues in doing this if a First Edition of the work exists published within the last 25 years? I can't imagine there are copyright issues with typesettin...

Adding a collections page for Graupner's Cantata Chorales
I've been doing a lot of work typesetting, analyzing and creating virtual performances for Graupner's Homophonic Chorale settings in the Cantatas. I post these on the respective Cantata pages under an "Opening Chorale" heading, however I'm wondering if it would be a better idea to create a...

Getting Better Virtual Performances of Classical Music
Starting a forum on how to get better virtual performances of classical pieces on IMSLP. A place to discuss sample libraries and techniques to use them effectively in creating more realistic Synthesized/Virtual sound files, especially in relation to traditional classical instrumentation. If you are ...

Another Composer's Page Not Showing
HI,
Similar to another posting, my page (Kram, Richard) is only accessible through "All People", not through "Composers" any more. Can you please reset cache that seemed to fix another user's problem.
Thanks

Real performances on Electronic Instruments - Where do they
If I record a real analog performance but it is on an electronic or synthesized instrument (record the analog output of a digital piano for example), does it go under Synthesized MIDI? Also if I compose a piece specifically for electronic/synthesized media, does that go under Synthesized/MIDI? Thanks

Collections of different composers works and anonymous works
I want to make a collected edition I thought would be interesting of different Baroque preludes in the style of Bach's WTC #I, Book I (there are many) that will include a number of different composers. Where exactly would I put such a thing on IMSLP? I can tag it: |Page Type=Collection as I've read,...

Hi, I've uploaded a new .pdf for this file: http://imslp.org/wiki/Nebulosity_(Kram,_Richard). When I view it before it is verified (when it displays X) it is fine. However once it is verified by you and has the arrow - it seems to be reverting back to an earlier version. Can you check if you think t...

Re: How to create a Transcriptions and Arrangements tab
Posted my orchestration of one of the William Drew Almaine. Seems to work. Please note I posted a Midi/Synthesized performance along with the score. I read somewhere where this is allowed if you rearrange something and in the general case if your synthesized version is of a high quality, which I fee...

How to create a Transcriptions and Arrangements tab
I am working on a number of transcriptions, arrangements and orchestrations of some Renaissance and Baroque compositions (for example I want to add one for Renaissance composer William Drew - there is only one set of pieces posted there). I see a button to add score but it only has the option to go ...

Created Composer page incorrectly
Hi, I appear to have stupidly created a composer page for myself with my name inverted and it shows up under (Richard, Kram) instead of (Kram, RIchard). Might someone please tell me how I contact an administrator to fix this or simply delete the composer and I'll create it again (I don't see a way f...
