Oh. err. I did my 3rd attempt at the diploma yesterday, and I changed pieces, so I didn't play this piece.. I'll tell you how I went when i get the results.

If a "hickup" means only a short silence between notes, "fill" it with very short pedalling. But I assume you're able to play notes with a regular rythm, legato or not. Yes, it means that. I don't use that fingering, I use a 2-5, 1-4, 2-5, 1-4, etc pattern for those consectutive...

It's Beethoven's sonata op2 no1 f minor, 3rd movement (minuet and trio) in the trio section. there is a whole bunch of consecutive fourths.
