Recreating a score.
I'm currently trying to recreate the score to the Ferdinand Ries Symphony No. 3, Op.90 and am wondering if the parts on this site are complete. The reason that I ask is because I recently tried listening to what I've completed so far compared with a recording that I have (Zürcher Kammerorchester und...

Re: Von Suppé "Light Cavalry Overture" won't show up in iPad
The file opens perfectly fine for me, at least - all the pages show up, no blanks at all. No idea what might be causing it, but it certainly isn't any sort of DRM protection since it's not under copyright anywhere in the first place. Which browser are you using, incidentally? You might want to try ...

Re: Von Suppé "Light Cavalry Overture" won't show up in iPad
Edit/Update: Tried opening in Adobe iPad PDF Reader. No luck there either. Tried opening in Win7 Safari on netbook. Success. Going to download file and try to transfer via USB cable. We'll see what happens. Edit/Update: No luck there either. I think that the source .pdf might be defective or DRM pro...

Von Suppé "Light Cavalry Overture" won't show up in iPad app
For some reason the Von Suppé "Light Cavalry Overture" .pdf just gives me blank pages when I open it up in the CloudReaders app for my iPad. All of the other IMSLP-sourced .pdfs are functioning normally. Is this some sort of DRM protection?

Can't access a score.
I've been trying to download Ce qu'on entend sur la montagne, S.95 (Liszt, Franz) , but all I get is a blank page. Broken link? You might want to check it out. EDIT: I just managed to download it directly onto my iPad (using Cloud Readers) which had no problem accessing the file, but can't seem to a...

Re: Submit music to IMSLP
M. Reynard, feel free to post it to the Wiki where anyone can obtain it. If you have revisions to make subsequently you can always upload a new version of the score to replace the old. Okay. As I said before, Berlioz normally puts the horns above the trumpets even if they are lower in pitch in the ...

Re: Submit music to IMSLP
Other ardent Berliozians here have done similar, using the Malherbe and Weingartner editions (as reprinted variously by Dover and Kalmus) as starting points for their own work. One thing you should do however, is re-order the staves to Berlioz’s preferred groupings, which have the horns at the top ...

Re: "IMSLP's biggest holes" - Most Wanted Scores
If no one's mentioned it yet, I would dearly love to get ahold of F.J. Gossec's Requiem. Wolfgang Kiess of Vienna, Austria, publishes a version, but I've never been able to get them to answer their e-mails or phone to place an order.

Re: Best Endings
Personal favorites (in no particular order): Brahms' Symphony No. 1 Mahler's Symphonies Nos. 1 & 2 Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 Judex Crederis from Berlioz's Te Deum -- Yeah, the WHOLE thing! Liszt's Les Preludes -- especially starting at "K" in the Dover/Breitkopf & Härtel score. "...

Re: Submit music to IMSLP
I have a somewhat related question. A while ago I created a score for Berlioz's arrangement of Rouget de Lisle's "La Marseillaise" in Finale PrintMusic. (Based primarily on the Kalmus version.) I tried to make it as accurate as possible within the limitations of the software and my own lim...

Re: Looking for orchestral pieces with organ
Most works with organ need quite a big orchestra. Elgar has a few including Enigma Variations, Cockaigne, and two of the Pomp and Circumstance Marches. There's also Liszt's Hunnenschlacht, Roman Festivals and Pines of Rome by Respighi, Tchaikovsky's Manfred Symphony, Taras Bulba by Janacek, or Also...
