Re: Bach First editions
I think I might have it, but I am not sure. I got the digital Bach edition, which is an unedited collection of his work. Is that what you need?

Prokofiev's harmony
I have started listening to works of Prokofiev recently, and I notice a lot of dissonances, but I don't know why he uses those dissonances.
Does anybody know more about this, and would you like to explain it?

Re: Best Composer ever
In some way is Liszt maybe one of the greatest composers ever. Even though he is known for his virtuosity on the piano, that is only a small part of his music. He did much more than that. He was probably the first atonal composer (Bagatelle sans Tonalité, which was published in 1885), he was the inv...

Editions of Liebestraum (Lisz)
Hi, On the Library, I have seen different editions of the third Liebestraum by Liszt. One is edited by Emil von Sauer, and this edition is different in phrasing than others, including the first version. For those who played this piece, what edition did/would you use? Links to the sheet music: http:/...

Re: I need some easy and beautiful pieces for piano
Chopin etudes aren't easy, Chopin preludes are.
Prelude number 4, 6, 7, 9, 20 aren't very hard (easiest are number 4 and 7).
The first prelude of WTC 1 (C Major) is also very easy, but beautiful.
I think Burgmüller etudes (opus 100) are also doable.

Re: Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto no. 5
As far as I know the first movement of a Concerto should have a sonata form, but the Rhapsody has a variation form.

Re: Favorite Quotes Made by Composers
Liszt: 'When the Tsar speaks everyone should remain silent.'
Rachmaninoff: 'Gentlemen — I, Sergei Rachmaninoff, have just heard myself play!'
The first one is my favorite.

'Sopra' in the second Hungarian Rhapsody.
I still don't know what they mean with it.

Be proud with yourself you can play those hard pieces. I think that would work (it works for me).

Re: Rachmaninov Piano Concertos, overrated?
What. Did Rachmaninoff write Violin Concerto's? Do you have any sources for that? I got a collection of Rachmaninoff's works without any Violin Concerto. http://imslp.org/wiki/List_of_compositions_by_Sergei_Rachmaninoff imslp also says he didn't write any violin concerto's. He did write two pieces f...
