Re: IMSLP Kickstarter Project 1: Leo Ornstein's Piano Concerto
I've made a start on the second movement, parts at least. It looks like trying to produce a score with the current convention of accidentals only apply to the next note is essentially impossible to do in Sibelius (it requires much faking). As I get through it I'll probably follow suit and put it on ...

Re: Rachmaninov Paganini Harp Comments
So if my orchestra (funded by my university) can't really afford to rent parts to a work that's PD i suspect others are in the same boat. I've also done all the work already apart from proof-reading and general tidying, so no more effort is required. My goal is clearly to have a set of error-free pa...

Re: Rachmaninov Paganini Harp Comments
I'm not entirely sure I would call the parts serviceable, and I would be very leery of handing out the manuscript set to an even semi-professional orchestra. Additionally I did them for a concert that I recently played in, so they've already been sued once, and the couple of people who have played i...

Re: Rachmaninov Paganini Harp Comments
Thankyou Sallen for the comments, I have tried to make the parts all as usable as possible. My limits of knowledge about the harp sadly show through, so I'm hopping someone knows about harp pedalling and would be willing to correct the likely many mistakes in my pedalling (copied mostly from the pen...

Proofreading Features
So I, and I suspect at least a few other contributors here, am a poor proofreader of my own work. I do my best, but frequently things are wrong/missing. As an example, I only found out about mistakes in my Vocal Score to Mahler 2 after someone used it for a score video on youtube and the helpful mem...

Rachmaninov Paganini Harp Comments
Hi, I am in the process of finalising typeset parts for the Rachmaninov Rhapsody and I would love to get some preliminary feedback. I don't play harp and would therefore be hugely appreciative if someone who does could comment on the harp part that I posted today ( here ). I am particularly interest...

Re: Open Score for the Well-Tempered Clavier?
Hey,
I can do you one later today, if nobody has one already existing. I just need time to sleep first
EDIT: Uploaded 16:03 GMT to the selections section at the bottom of the WTC Book I page, link is: here

Ornstein - Piano Concerto
A couple of months ago someone (Carolus?) mentioned that Leo Ornstein's estate was interested in releasing the PIano Concerto into IMSLP's hands in the hope of a more presentable set of parts being produced. Is there any kind of update on this, since I haven't heard any word since the first post?

Re: The End of "Genres"
Couple of things, first one is how do we tag "Meditations" in English or French forms, and second, Songs for orchestra, generally lieder, but occasionally chants or chansons as language dictates?

Re: Strange string notation
Shostakovich for personal amusement, in my orange sikorski edition the trombones and tuba are written as 1+2 in alto and 3+tuba in bass clef - it just struck me as odd, since i'm fairly sure it's not intended for Alto trombone, I was expecting Tenor Clef

Re: Strange string notation
Indeed i know theyre multiple stops, i was just curious how theyre played is all, and that did seem the most sensible explanation ^^
While im on the subject of strange notation, Trombones on Alto Clef?

Strange string notation
Working on a typeset im doing I've run into notation where strings playing in unison have 3/4 note chords where the bottom or two notes are crotchets and the upper one/two are minims, Im assuming this means that you bow all four notes then sustain the top two?
Anyone clarify this for me?
