Can anybody help me (in a bit of a rush, trying to meet a deadline!) with a score including the lyric? I have a MIDI file which I hope will convert without too much trouble to give me the dots, but I need to match the words to the dots accurately (and since this dates from the golden age of English ...

Perhaps I am being a little melodramatic here, but the action of UE reminds me of nothing so much as the BURNING OF THE LIBRARY OF ALEXANDRIA.

Without wishing to muddy the waters, perhaps some arrangement could be established whereby UE can sell their editions as an affiliate to IMSLP?

If it is possible to impose a block preventing downloading of specific scores to a given continent, surely this would be enough copyright protection to satisfy the law ? (OK it will require a lot more work by site administration, but it would allow IMSLP to continue to operate). In the meantime, is ...

Has anybody else noticed problems logging into the CPDL over the last few days? I thought my bookmarks might be out of date so tried googling for it, but even the searched-up links failed to load.

In the past I have relied heavily on the Karadar / CoCoA site as a source of vintage recordings in MP3 format. earlier this year, I was advised that the Planets Suite copyright was renewed (not sure what that means in real terms) and is held by the Holst estate. (The trustees of Imogen's estate, I think).

My thinking is that if I start a page for a composer whose works are copyrighted, to add a note giving an approximate date when they "should" enter the public domain.

I am still agonizing over the question of whether to release any of my late father's works, and if so, which ones.
