I've just found out about this site and composer and I would really appreciate if someone could upload these lovely works. I looked all over the Internet but I couldn't find them at all, not even for selling.
According to Wikipedia, he died in 1940, so depending on when they were published, these might have to go on the EU server, but they are definitely fair game.
The year the work was published (if prior to 1961*) is often a problem in respect of the US. That's why Steltz mentioned the EU server. Different countries, different laws, you see?
Cheers, Philip
* The choice of this year is not predicated on either US or European law, but interactions of another legal jurisdiction again.
Concerto #2 is published by Schott, available in the US as an import through Hal Leonard.
Listed price is $124.95 Catalogue number is #HL 49020583. Performance parts are listed on the Schott site as a rental item.
Find the composer directly above where Greef would go in alphabetical order, click edit for that composer, and add the heading for Greef directly afterwards. The format is explained on the Wishlist page, usually, something like
=={{Cat|Greef, Arthur de}} (18??–1940)==
* Piano Concertos 1 & 2
... confused. already is on the wishlist... has been for some time now... and the 2nd concerto is already partially uploaded... *goes to see if a duplicate Greef was just added*
as to "partially uploaded" I was confusing him somehow (oddly and incomprehensibly" with another composer of 2 concertos-known-to-me, Melcer/Melcer-Szczawiński (where our copy of the 2nd is, indeed, missing pages. No puns will be inserted to replace them.)
The CPS has a 2 piano version of the 1st concerto, so I will scan it eventually if I can find it. This was a special order via Schott when the work was still in copyright. Now that it is not, no doubt it would be cheaper to obtain a copy from any library that may have it.
Would appreciate a link to the 2nd concerto as I cannot find it via Schott or Hal Leonard.
Go to halleonard.com and put 49020583 (cat. #) in the site's search field. The concerto comes up (2 piano version), but the word piano is misspelled (paino), which may explain your not finding it earlier. As for Schott, only the rental shows up on their site; I have no idea why the 2-piano version seems to be missing.
