English Folk Song Suite - Vaughan Williams

Post by thefrenchhornguy »

Does anybody have the score and/or parts for Ralph Vaughan Williams' English Folk Song Suite? If so, could you please post it in the library? I know he's not under copyright because a lot of his music is already available for download. The suite would be a great addition to Petrucci.

That's not necessarily the case. From what I understand, if a composer's life straddles a certain date or if the publication of his/her works occur before and after a certain date, and if copyrights were renewed, or if an editor makes substantial contributions to a new edition, some of the composer's works may not be available on IMSLP or would be restricted because of Canadian, EU, or US law.

How would I find out if English Folk Song Suite is still protected?

According to World-cat it was copyrighted in 1924. Bad luck...
