Heh. That's gotta be a large one. Still, should be fine for the site, as it's from 1911 and Gliere died in 1956.

I'd love to see any Gliere possible, myself...

I recall reading a review of a recording of this fascinating piece in which the writer noted that it's in print in England, but the score is gigantic and sells for several hundred dollars ... I believe it!

If you search for op.42 in worldcat or the kvk, you get the library listings with the different transliterated spellings:

Several german libraries have the 415 p. 1948 Muzgiz edition. But in Europe Gliere is still protected.

The 1920's Jürgensohn edition in 4 vol. is available as a 1970's reprint from Kalmus (255 US$ for all 4 movements).
so it should be public domain in the US,
Sibley has this original edition - Jim Farrington, any chance to get it high priotity in your scanning project?

Wow, this was a big one. We finally got it done, and it can now be found at http://hdl.handle.net/1802/6794. And I see someone is already downloading it, some 90 seconds after we finished uploading it. Never ceases to amaze me.

By the way, we have now started the grant in earnest and have a full time staff member and 80 hours/week worth of students scanning away, so there's a lot more stuff being uploaded on a daily basis.

It's a wonderful scan of a very rare score, for which we all thank you! I expect the publication date was closer to 1912 than 1920, since Jurgenson ceased to exist in Moscow in 1918. At any rate, I put it into 4 sections (1 for each movement) and uploaded to the wiki, even though the file sizes are a little big.

Thanks for posting it here. We scanned it at 600 dpi, hence the larger file sizes, and why we broke it up into smaller segments to aid those with slower connections. BTW, and this might be somewhere on the site and I just haven't seen it, but what's IMSLP's general upper limit for individual files? We're thinking of increasing our size just so we don't have to break things up so much.

It's 150 MB, which is pretty big. This allows for even high-resolution full-color scans of manuscripts and the like. If you notice a detail on the wiki pages, any file over 20MB appears in red as a warning to those who are on dial-up modems. Most of our visitors appear to have fairly decent connection speed, but there are still many areas where high-speed is unavailable.

Definitely. The score I saw at the library of Congress had introductory notes on each movement, and before each movement, in the old Russian alphabet and in French!
