Composed 1878 but when first published? An (Orbis) edition (first??) may be United States public domain if only because judging from the Worldcat listing anyway there's no copyright date printed in it- though the n.d.-rule (so to speak) stopped holding after a certain year, according to the description of US Copyright Law on the main site. (Though editions with valid copyright exist from the late 1940s. Even if the other is not the first, those 1940s editions would be PD-CA & EU, anyway.)
