Dear Collected wisdom,

Can someone please explain to me why Roussel scores are still under copyright in the US? He died in 1937, which puts him public domain in both the EU and Canada.

Thanks.

Ed

If the piece in question (not the composer) was published after 1922, it's likely under copyright.

While a number of Roussel's scores are now available by the EU server, some anomalies remain. For instance, does anyone know why the duo for bassoon and double bass remains under "TB" status?

Thanks.

The works that are not available were either published posthumously or contain contributions by others that died after Roussel and are still protected in the EU.
