Musical Notation Help

Post by bohenry »

I am playing fuge 20 in a minor from Bach's WTC book 1. I have run into a section where eight notes are connected to sixteen notes via the same beam, and I don't know wether to treat the eight notes like eights or sixteens. This is a really weird setup to me, so I was wondering if someone could help me. The image link is provided below. Its just imageshack. No viruses or any craziness. Thank you.

Hi, what you see there is two fugal voices that cross parts: the eighth notes are to be played as eighth notes; the lower part (stems down) has two sixteenth notes which fit into the time for one of the upper part's eighth notes.
