Tchaikovsky piano concerto 3

Post by PGOAA »

Hello! I saw that Kalmus Edition published Tchaikovsky piano concerto 3. I heard that this edition reprints other editions. I know that Jurgenson Edition was the first publisher to publish this concerto. So Kalmus reprints Jurgenson? Are there any concrete evidence about this please? Thank you very much

The Kalmus edition is a reprint of the 1954 Soviet collected edition of Tchaikovsky's works. You can find that Soviet edition, as well as Jurgenson's original 1895 edition, on IMSLP: https://imslp.org/wiki/Piano_Concerto_N ... %2C_Pyotr)

Those scores only include the concerto's first movement, which Tchaikovsky finished just before his death. The last two movements were later completed and orchestrated by Sergey Taneyev, and published separately as the "Andante and Finale": https://imslp.org/wiki/Andante_and_Fina ... ky,_Pyotr)
