Re: Splitting recordings from Isabella Stewart Gardner Museu
Probably not. On archive.org, there are a fair number of hour-long radio broadcasts released under similar licenses which include recordings of works that would go very nicely onto an IMSLP page. A derivative would be incorporating a segment into a new compilation. Ok. In that case, I have many spl...

Re: Uploading of non-"classical" audio files?
Are the individual works in that list all licensed under CC? All by the same composer?, etc. We do have a few things where a composer has created a sound file only and uploaded it. When you get into someone other than the composer asserting CC claims, we run into potential infringement issues. All ...

Splitting recordings from Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
Hello:
I'm wondering if it would be fine if I split some of the audio recordings from IGSM, which are licensed under CC-BY-NC-ND. Would splitting the recording count as a derivative that the ND clause provides against? I'm guessing no, but just want to make sure.
Thanks,
Lekro.

Re: Uploading of non-"classical" audio files?
-snip- I feel the same way about the donations model. On bandcamp, it's "in your face" and takes precedence over the download, while in IMSLP, the reverse is true. This donations model should be similarly obvious and visible on the IMSLP work page if these files are uploaded. An "alb...

Ok - thanks.KGill wrote:That's bizarre--I don't know if Philidor is still around so much but I'll try to contact Nick directly. More care really should be taken for these things.

Spam in IMSLP journal?
Hello everyone: I was recently browsing the IMSLP journal, and found these peculiar spam messages by a user "test." http://imslpjournal.org/author/test/ They were apparently posted in March (!) and still haven't been cleaned up! Two or three posts were made after these messages and the aut...

Uploading of non-"classical" audio files?
Hello everyone: A friend of mine gave me links to three free albums of electronic music: http://bandcamp.sectionz.com/album/beats-vol-1 http://bandcamp.sectionz.com/album/mindfighting-2 http://bandcamp.sectionz.com/album/dead-surfers-club I read the description for a bit and looked around, and notic...

Re: GardnerPerf template vs. performer categories
If a performer category exists or you feel like creating one then by all means convert them from the GardnerPerf template. I get the feeling that the GardnerPerf template was more of a stop-gap for dealing with performers who didn't have a category on the wiki (most likely because either there was ...

GardnerPerf template vs. performer categories
Hello everyone: I recently noticed that many of the audio files from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum were not tagged with performance categories, but rather with the {{GardnerPerf|1}} template. Is there a reason this template is used instead of the performance categories? I don't want to change ...

Ok, the files have been uploaded.

Unfortunately, we do not have a score for that piece, and I cannot find one online.

Re: One work with multiple composers
Ok- sounds good. Sorry for the page duplication - didn't realize that those two flute quintets were from the collaborative set of three. Unfortunately, Bernhard Romberg's quintet is not in Sibley - the one that is named like it's the third quintet: https://urresearch.rochester.edu/institutionalPubli...

Re: One work with multiple composers
Thanks. I have done that, but the scores in my new work page seem to be the same as those in another one... New: http://imslp.org/wiki/3_Flute_Quintets_(Various) What I found: http://imslp.org/wiki/2_Flute_Quintets_(Romberg,_Andreas) One should be deleted. Which one is preferable, though? The collec...

One work with multiple composers
Hello: Is it possible for me to have a work with two composers? I found some scores and a recording on Pandora Records of Bernhard and Andreas Romberg's three flute quintets, opus 1. How would I go about making a work to hold those that appears with two composers? Links to files for reference: Score...

Re: Galway recordings on Pandora Records/Archive
Well, even Wikipedia uses them ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bern ... llegro.ogg citing the EFF OAL/Pandora Records so I guess they're ok to upload on IMSLP as well.

Re: Galway recordings on Pandora Records/Archive
That's what I thought, but in that case, these are recordings made by Pandora Records itself?
