Re: New site design - tabs
It is possible, but not very easy. I will keep this in mind and fix it when I am finished with other more urgent upgrades.

Re: New site design - tabs
Focus should be present in all top levels except Composer and Unknown, unless you meant a different "top level".
I'll change the rating text soon.

Re: New Main Page full redesign project
Just a small thing: would it be possible to select a fancier font for the header (IMSLP/Petrucci Music Library)?

Re: "Enter parameters" message
This message should never actually appear unless there is an error in the system (or you are tinkering with the URL). Can you tell me how you got it?

Re: New site design - tabs
1. Actually, the difference is between sections that use tabs and those that don't. I'm working on possibly unifying the two styles, but since this is not a huge functional problem, it is probably not a very high priority. 2. Perlnerd is correct that at this point I see no way around it. Technically...

Re: New Main Page full redesign project
Icactus: The searchbox code will replace the current one in the next few days, at the latest over the weekend. Also, if you haven't put the CSS in Mediawiki:Common.css yet, please feel free to do so, as it will not be in the code.

Re: List of recent additions
Most certainly, if somebody puts it there (Otherwise, I'll do it when I can and remember to. )

Re: New Main Page full redesign project
If you only need this search box at the top like the current Wikipedia, then don't worry about it. IMSLP is upgrading to the most recent version of Mediawiki in a few months, and after the upgrade IMSLP will look exactly like the current Wikipedia. Please tell me if you still want this search box to...

Re: Does the category walker really works well?
@kalliwoda: I agree that it should be advertised more. In terms of usage it should be rather easy to use, but with one wrinkle that people probably don't know about. Normally it searches for each word (separated by spaces) in each category name, but if you put in a slash (/) it will search each sect...

Re: "Enter parameters" message
I've actually never encountered this message, so if you could provide a screenshot or the verbatim message it'd be helpful. If it appears very infrequently, I think it might be less trouble to just leave it in.

Re: Does the category walker really works well?
Would it be useful to let (arr) categories inherit all the properties of the regular non-(arr) categories? I.e. "Oboe and bassoon (arr)" inherits all the parent categories of "Oboe and bassoon", unless it is explicitly exempted in MW:G. If I understand correctly that is the sugge...

Re: List of recent additions
I will try to work on this, but if you need a complete list of submissions right now, I would encourage you to use the RSS/Atom feed. That is how I keep track of all the file submissions and even wiki edits. There are numerous free RSS/Atom readers around; I think Google even has a web-based one (Go...

Re: [FEAT] Instrumentation Search Criteria
The system I am imagining does not distinguish between chamber or orchestral (or anything) as long as the categories exist. The rules for translation of the shorthand into the category name/search string is provided by the Librarians, and not the code. But again, I'm not sure when I will be able to ...

Re: New Main Page full redesign project
Icactus, The search box is a completely custom extension that I wrote from scratch, so it bears no relationship to Extension:SearchBox. Please tell me if you want me to add a certain class or id parameter to the search box. The best way is for you to tell me the exact HTML changes that I should make...

Re: [FEAT] Instrumentation Search Criteria
Using a shorthand search system for chamber works is definitely possible, and may not even be that hard to implement. However, two notes: (1) tags cannot be searched, because tags are treated as malleable, hence the search will need to be of actual categories and (2) I have a few other higher-priori...
