The real problem are the composers, who died before 1937 and are still under copyright by UE oder another publisher. Who knows all the names of these composers? Could be, that in 2 or 3 months the next publisher will send Feldmahler the next letter about such a "unkkown" composer. I think ...

I think, the first step is not the money. Feldmahler has to decide, if he want's to run the server in the future. The next question must be about the problematic files (< 50 years, < 70 years). Should they be deleted or is it better to install a special system, which controls the IP? After that, we ...

If I understood the letter, the main problem is, that you can't be sure to fulfill the copyright in each case, isn't it? If there is an agreement to enlarge the protection over 70 years after the composers death, you are getting troubles. Wherefrom could a normal person know something about such agr...

I think that the problem will be the same. If the UE or someone else finds the link, the uploader will get a nice date with the lawyer of the publisher.

I'm very angry about the behaviour of the UE. In fact the german (and I think the austrian) copyright ist very strict. In Germany, we have to pay lots of money to purchase sheetmusic from a german publisher such as UE, Schott Music, Peters, Sikorski, Breitkopf und Haertel and so on. In the last few ...
