Re: Handel Operas and Oratorien vocal scores

I happen to know from personal experience that there are few if any vocal scores of Handel's operas in public domain. Recent vocal scores by Baerenreiter are certainly not in public domain. The oratorios I'm not sure about...

Piano.ru down?

I've checked Piano.ru several times recently and it has always been down. Is anyone in communication with the moderator of that website to see if it will ever come back up? Did anyone archive the material (in particular the vocal section)?

Franz Schreker Die Gezeichneten...if you like Strauss, Debussy, Puccini, Korngold, or any combination of the four check it out, especially the prelude!

Re: Mahler, Overrated?

First of all, I am a firm believer in uncovering the merits of each and every composer I come across. This often leads to wonderful other discoveries. Brahms and Mahler both have a place in my heart as well as my head. Brahms was THE master of rythm in the 19th century, obvious in all of his music f...

Re: Wagner Tristan piano-vocal arr by H v Bulow

It is available for perusal at the Harvard Digital Scores and Libretti website (http://hcl.harvard.edu/libraries/loebmu ... gital.html). Looks like a pretty busy accompaniment!

Mahler 8 Vocal Score?

I believe the vocal score for the Mahler 8 was published in 1910. Is this now in public domain, and if so could someone with access to it please post it? Thanks!

Rachmaninoff op. 35

Hello! Does anybody have access to the vocal score to Rachmaninoff's "The Bells"? The full score is available here at IMSLP, but if the vocal score were available for upload it would be most appreciated. Also, I just wanted to say thank you to all the moderators here at IMSLP for their pat...

Canteloube song cycle

Hello! Can someone tell me where I could find a copy of "L'arada" by Canteloube. It is likely not in the public domain and I have searched several music sites (di-arezzo, sheetmusicplus, tismusic, etc). Does anyone know where else to look? Thanks!

While Puccini was certainly not a trailblazer like Debussy or Stravinsky, I disagree that he composed "behind his time." In the history of opera, he took the bel canto and verismo traditions to new heights. Plus, he welcomed the influence of Wagner (Tosca), Debussy (Madama Butterfly), and ...
