Quite simply, since Stravinsky died in 1971, none of his works are public domain in Canada. If you wait for 14 years, you can have all the Stravinsky you want. That said, does anyone think it would be preferable to have empty composer pages for well-known composers that are copyright, with biographi...

I just want to extremely careful about uploading things when people tell me I "will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law." What should I use for editor, scanner, and publisher information?

I now have the Orchestra Musician's CD-ROM Library Violin Parts of Volumes 1 and 7. I quote from the inside cover: The PDF files on this CD-ROM are copyrighted and may be printed by the licensee for his/her personal use, but not otherwise copied or reproduced or e-mailed. This is copyfraud, right? T...

Oops! I know that there is a c-sharp minor nocturne, but I couldn't find a violin arrangement of that one. Now, though, I see that there is an arrangement by Nathan Milstein. Since Milstein died in 1992, the arrangement is copyright. Unless you can find another, older arrangement, you'll have to buy...

So then, could it say "Blocked" or something about how it is copyright, and therefore unavailable, instead of "Temporarily Blocked?" I just don't want people getting the impression that it will be available eventually (before 2069).

"Temporarily Blocked" Tag

I noticed that the Mozart's Requiem urtext edition is marked V/61/V (Non-PD-US), and it's also marked "Temporarily Blocked." I'm in the US, so I obviously can't download the file. Is it labeled as blocked only to people in the US? Because if so, it would be nice to distinguish unreviewed b...

I assume you mean the Sarasate arrangement in D Major? That's from the Nocturne in D-Flat - I can't find one in minor.... Anyway, I don't have it myself, but if you're interested in spending money, they have it at Sheet Music Plus: http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/store/smp_searchresults.html?cart=7192...

It seems a little odd to me that SMA could make any money from these scores. Aren't virtually all of them available for free from IMSLP?

Sorry, I was unclear. The three examples are all from different pages. They are all the "translations" of the words, "Main Page" as shown when displayed on the Main page, Contributor Portal page, and Goals page, respectively.

I'm terrible at recognizing languages, but here are the words for Main Page (from the left toolbar) as I go through pages. From: Main Page - Faqja Kryesore Contributor Portal - الصفحة الرئيسية IMSLP Goals - Tuisblad These are the only three languages (other than English) that I can find, and the thi...

Yeah...I see that now, but Arabic it most certainly was. My guess is that the computer I was using has some sort of weird auto-translation settings that somehow interpreted the page as different languages.

When I go to work Monday (that's where the problem was) I'll look into it more.

Hmm... I just tried it from my computer using Firefox 2, and it was fine. When it was weird this morning, I was on a public computer, not logged in to IMSLP. When I switched to Safari, everything was fine.

This probably isn't possible since it would almost certainly be Amazon's choice, but I don't suppose there's a way to let people know, after they leave the site, that 10% of the money will go to IMSLP? When I follow the link and purchase something (which I just did - $4 should be coming your way), i...

Firefox 2 Language Problems

When I access IMSLP form Firefox two, the pages appear in what seem like random languages. The main page is in Arabic, and other pages are in various languages. Has this bug been seen before?
