Re: Musics contain "wanna"?
Indeed. Reconciling the OP’s “Occupation” and “Interests” was another reason why I didn't go down the well-honed path of account deletion. :-) P.

Re: 6 Trio Sonatas (Pla, José)
Given the proximity of v to b on the Qwerty keyboard layout, I think that one may simply be attributable to error, rather than either incompetence or malice.

Perhaps, but she has at least made return visits to show us that she really cares.

Re: New Work Page layout?
One problem evident in the new CSS for the file download section of the work page is that unclicked internal links are coloured identically to bold text: there is no distinction made until a link has been visited (but then you need to hover the mouse over every possible bit of black text to know whe...

Re: Greef, Arthur de - Piano Concerto 1&2
The Wishlist guidelines are listed here: http://imslp.org/wiki/IMSLP:Wishlist Find the composer directly above where Greef would go in alphabetical order, click edit for that composer, and add the heading for Greef directly afterwards. The format is explained on the Wishlist page, usually, something...

Re: New Main Page full redesign project
The A refers to Volume A of Ottaviano Petrucci’s Harmonice Musices Odhecaton , the first modern music printing from Venice, AD 1501. I notice the background hasn’t been neutralised, in the screen shot it is partially blocking out the number of works on IMSLP. Has the new layout been checked on limit...

Re: Is a continuo realization an arrangement?
Dear Notenschreiber, as Davydov alludes to, there is a spectrum of creativity involved in continuo realisation from the trivial — adding the first violin part above the continuo without change, or mechanically interpreting the chordal figured bass — through to the sophistication of Lionel Sawkins’ D...

Re: Is a continuo realization an arrangement?
Who would sit in judgement as to the creative scope of a realisation? Would this be a good point to mention Lionel Sawkins vs Hyperion Records?

Re: Greef, Arthur de - Piano Concerto 1&2
The year the work was published (if prior to 1961*) is often a problem in respect of the US. That's why Steltz mentioned the EU server. Different countries, different laws, you see? Cheers, Philip * The choice of this year is not predicated on either US or European law, but interactions of another l...

Re: Is a continuo realization an arrangement?
This seems to me to be off-topic, but I think the answer is yes there would be some form of objection to this proposal, because of the distinction that some editorial tasks do require the exercise of creativity and originality, which are normally the preserve of composers, and those of us who are oc...

Re: Is a continuo realization an arrangement?
Whether Jaksch is credited with the arranger tag is a red herring — continuo realisation partakes of the flavour of arrangement even though it doesn’t transform the original instrumental designation of the work. We haven’t — as a historical practice on IMSLP — treated these as de jure arrangements, ...

Re: Is a continuo realization an arrangement?
If we are going to call continuo realisation “arrangement” then we need to re-classify every single vocal score on the website. Get busy people! P— EDITED TO ADD: Facetiousness aside, it looks as though the page has been edited appropriately — keyboard realisation of continuo is obviously deserving ...
