Re: Template design for parts in the OP Project
@kcleung: I don't fancy that idea or others that separate into pages within the same composition (the separation of suites being a good example). The composition page should be the last stop in the chain for reaching a work. If we were to take the idea of orchestral parts receiving their own page, ...

Re: Orchestra material in one PDF or individual PDFs?
As the acquisition phase of the OP project is nearly complete, we really need to have a consensus about the best way to present orchestral parts of a work and get the template ready in time for the OP project I have an idea: For an orchestral item, we can put the full score on the page of the item, ...

Persuading estates to convert non-PD works to CC
It is widely known that Chinese symphonic works are notoriously difficult to get because they are usually only printed *once* in a small run during the first publication and then *NOT* reprinted. As a result, many magnificent Chinese symphonic works remain unknown to the rest of the world. Therefore...

Re: Making an entry for a non-PD composer
so we need a template for the Non-PD category: http://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Non-Public_Domain_Composers which does *not* have a link to add PDF scores........ I have agitated for a long time to allow pages of this kind to be available, despite the obvious cognitive dissonance of having a page for ...

IMSLP on Inter-collegiate fibre network (was Re: IMSLP on DV
Perhaps it would be better not to include the Creative Commons files? Although we have no legal obligation to let the copyright owners know of this it is almost rude not to, and that's a lot of work to do. Plus it frees up a couple of things: University libraries are happy to pay a bit of money (he...

Making an entry for a non-PD composer
If I want more people in the rest of the world to know about a composer whose copyright has not yet lapsed, is it okay to make an entry for him on IMSLP and list hist works WITHOUT uploading his scores?
I think in the old days I can do that on IMDBP but IMDBP no longer exists.

Re: Orchestral Parts Project
You would need a Linux system to run the automated removal script, which is already installed in my computer and the run is nearly complete. We are now focusing the next step - designing the new interface for orchestral entries with complete parts and reviewing the processed files. If you are a copy...

Who has access to OM full score for vol 1 and 2?
OM has already released full score CD for vol 2. Do you know anyone who has access to full scores for vol 1 and 2? If so, we should get them and include these full scores in our project. Quality of these scores are much better than the miniature scans that we have on IMSLP.

Re: Orchestral Parts Project
Could we have an update? Also, I noticed OMCDL has added a "Full Scores" CD for Volume I Does anyone have access to that? I haven't come across with a library stocking this CD yet. The quality of the full score CD would certainly be much better than our miniature score scans currently at ...

Do we have any lawyers in the copyright review or IMSLP
Hi, At this stage, do we have lawyers (or at least with legal qualification in any countries) in the copyright review team or in the IMSLP admin? Should we advertise these volunteering positions in law schools? The students can claim these volunteering positions as job experience in their CVs..........

Re: FTP Server
Great! I'm glad you built leptonica to make it easier for others to use. The README looks good. I'm sorry I don't have much time to review in depth right now. A couple other observations from working with the script: - Look at line 63 of clean_pdf.rb. I added a pause so that the files could be chec...

Re: FTP Server
Thanks Horndude77! I also didn't see anything slipped through. You are a real hero in this project. I have slighted amended your script to allow automated batch process of OM files volume by volume. ftp://imslp.org/OP Project/batch_script/ I've included the pre-compiled liblept.so.1.60 for both x86 ...
