Re: Gershwin piano concerto - fullscore and orch parts

Okay...... I live in a Life+50 country, where Gershwin is already PD.

So if anyone also live in a Life+50 country and have access to the Gershwin score and parts, please flick me a private message.

Gershwin piano concerto - fullscore and orch parts

Does anyone have the full score and more importantly, orchestral parts? My orchestra really needs it for the concert soon.

Thanks!

IMSLP hosting PD audio files

IMSLP has done a great job at hosting PD PDF scores. It would be nice if there is a PD repository for audio records (in open-standard format such as ogg). Would it be feasible if IMSLP also takes ogg files? It can take out-of-copyright records, or CC-compatible recording from individual / groups

PD books for absolute beginners

Hey do we have some books for absolute beginners in different instruments (such as piano), theory, or musicianship? if we have, should we create a group for them so that they are more visible to music teachers?

IMSLP vs Mutopia

So if a work is PD in Canada and US, but *not* EU, will downloading be blocked?

And for long term, IMSLP will be like Mutopia, except IMSLP is for PDF entries, and Mutopia is for lilypond (re)typesets...............

Re: Merging TIFF to PDF

Suppose you want to merge files a.tiff, b.tiff and c.tiff, with g4 compression, under Linux: tiffcp -c g4 a.tiff b.tiff c.tiff out.tiff (or if you want to merge all tiff files in curr dir, you can use wildcard: tiffcp -c g4 *.tiff out.tiff) tiff2pdf out.tiff > out.pdf Easy..... In ubuntu, you need t...

Re: Selectively country blocking by IP address

You misunderstand. We've had many, many similar ideas....but proxy servers make it practically not worth our while... Oh...... people can use proxy server to bypass our IP address check...... So is this our policy to block all entries that are not PD in USA or EU (i.e. a work must be PD in Canada, ...

Selectively country blocking by IP address

We have no way of instituting a selective block on things at present. It's very annoying but there's not much that can be done about it, sad to say. Hey, this site describes how to use a free IP database (which lists ranges of all ISPs in the world) (together with ASP code) to determine country of ...

Works in Chopin Album published by PWM 3732 in 1961

Many works in that album are declared as not PD in US and they are claimed as being edited by Kazimierz Sikorski (1895-1986), and therefore blocked. However I can't see reference of editors in these work, such as http://imslp.org/wiki/Rondeau_de_Concert_%27Krakowiak%27,_Op.14_%28Chopin,_Frederic%29 ...

Re: Thumb linking to Preview?

do you mean making the first page of any PDF a preview image, then link a thumb to it?

At this stage, PDFs do not have preview images, as the first page is not necessary the score. Also you can figure out how it sounds by going to youtube...........

Re: Orchestral Parts Project

No, I meant that they need to be uploaded to the FTP. We live in different states, and I don't give out my adress. Hi Carolus, So what is our progress of loading cleaned works to IMSLP proper? Which works are already loaded and which are not? Also could you please upload the rest of the volumes I m...

Re: Orchestral Parts Project

Wake up logo removers, etc.! We need new files on the ftp server! (I know there are plenty, but several of the things that would actually be good to upload are missing) Logo removal for vol 1-10 is already completed and Carolus has a copy of the cleaned stuff. Copyright is straight forward (except ...

Re: Orchestral Parts Project

Are you referring to the Clarinet parts for Beethoven Symphony No.1 on the wiki? Those were uploaded last summer by Romanov76110. I don't see any logos there. The one you sent is smaller and also clean of logos. There were some metatags in Ras1's file I noticed. I'll go ahead and replace with the o...
