Re: broschi/farinelli, sabrina
Pastiches haven't made it into the MLA list, and ''Grove'' has multiple definitions, but classifying them all as types of opera: (i) Revival with substitutions; arias by various composers are substituted for pieces thought unsuitable for the available singers; (ii) True pasticcio: - (a) a patchwork ...

Re: broschi/farinelli, sabrina
An RISM search on "Sabrina" brings up Pescetti, Farinelli and Johann Adolph Hesse as co-composers of "Sabrina" (and it's possible there were others). So I've treated it as a collaborative work and moved it to http://imslp.org/wiki/Sabrina_(Various) , with links from each of the c...

Re: Agricola, D'un aultre amor
Hmm, these don't look to be different arrangements of the same source. If that's not the case (i.e. they are different works), then they should continue to have separate work pages, with the Roman numeral suffixes I, II, III, etc. If they are different arrangements of the same work then they do belo...

Re: Agricola, D'un aultre amor
In the absence of any expert guidance, I'd recommend having them all on the same page and treating them as different versions of the same work, each of which would be tagged.

Re: Works with more than one composer
Hmm, "taken from" sounds a little like "ripped off" So it should be left under Keiser as the composer, ideally with cross-references to and from the other works used.
But if the sources of the borrowings aren't easily identifiable then I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Re: Works with more than one composer
OK, three possible scenarios here: 1) If it's a work by Keiser which uses pre-existing arias by the other composers, then it should continue to be listed under Keiser, with cross-references from the pages from the other composers' works. 2) If it's a work by Keiser, to which other composers were inv...

Re: Spanish Capriccio vs. Capriccio Espagnol (Rimsky)
"Capriccio Espagnol" is mentioned as one of the alternative titles on the work page, and will come up if anyone searches for it, but it wasn't known to the composer by that name. Even the Library of Congress use "Ispanskoe kaprichchio" (a direct transliteration of the Russian for...

Congratulations on solving the mystery! It should really be on the Alexander's Feast page, with a mention of the German title in the notes field of the file.

Yes, I moved it earlier as a result of your enquiry. His one composition had somehow been split over two differently-named pages as well, but that's fixed now too.

Re: Page move request: Türrschmidt, Carl
Hello Alex, and welcome to IMSLP! As you can imagine, there are many different variations of composer names (e.g. "Louis de Beethoven"), and we have a strategy for dealing with this: http://imslp.org/wiki/IMSLP:Composer_Names Türrschmidt doesn't appear in the Library of Congress authority ...

No, there is no "cont" tag, but it could appear as an abbreviation in scores. Looks like my attempt to avoid confusion managed to cause it. Well done Davydov

Re: Nocturne v. Notturno
The MLA list treats Nocturnes and Notturnos as being synonymous (even if the form itself may have evolved over time), but if they ever change their minds we can look at it again.
